Volunteer with Elephants Sri Lanka
The Millennium Elephant Foundation is situated on a 15 acre estate known as Samaragiri, which has been home to the Samarasinghe family for many generations. Volunteers get the opportunity to work with Elephants and use their skills in a wide range of areas to help the organisation!

Key Information
- Accommodation and food provided (not flights)
- This includes accommodation food (3 meals per day), airport transfers and visa. We understand that it is a significant amount of money, however please be assured that the proceeds go toward the charity and the implementation of the volunteer project.
Roles and advantages
Roles:
- Upon arrival at the MEF volunteers will be allocated an elephant (unless you request otherwise) with which you will work each day for the duration of your placement, along with the elephant's mahout tending to its daily care and treatment.
- Fundraising, public relations & admin
- Oppotunities to teach English
- Ecological farming
- Work with the Mobile Veterinary Unit
