Mammal Research Centre San Francisco
The Marine Mammal Center is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of injured, sick and orphaned marine mammals. It is based near San Francisco in North America. There are no fees but the project cannot provide accommodation so it is up to volunteer to find accommodation nearby. This would be an ideal project for somebody who has found other work in the San Francisco area and would like to do some volunteering as well!

Roles and advantages
Mix a passion for animals with opportunities such as:
- Animal care-Animal care crews assist with pen cleaning, laundry, dishes, weighing, charting, making formula, assisting with medical procedures and feeding.
- Science/research-Volunteers are needed seasonally to assist with lab, necropsy and field work.
- Education- Education Volunteers greet visitors and to talk with the public about our seal and sea lion patients
- Youth program also available (for 14-18 year olds)
- Work with Seals and Sea lions making a positive contribution to their rehabilitation.
