Humpback Whale Research and Conservation
The aim of this project is to develop Sierra Leone using its strengths in nature and community- rich habitats, abundant and diverse nature, village life, crafts, art and music. Eco tourism, micro financing and social entrepreneurship, conservation, education, alternative and sustainability technologies and ideas, and organic farming methods all being used as instruments of development, with implementation through teams of young volunteers from all over the world.

Roles and advantages
Mix a passion for Whales and wildlife with the following:
- Based within village communities, much of the daily work will be aimed at achieving goals within the community- to create a network of community based eco lodges, training in and application of alternative technologies, organic farming methods, sustainability projects, teaching in local schools, implementing micro financing initiatives, installing sanitation, water, electricity, health care, building craft and art capacity as a source of revenues
- Research on Humpwhales will also be carried out at certain points of the year
- ALL volunteers will be encouraged to do their own thing- be it research into local species and eco systems, photography or film making, social anthropological studies, journalism, experimental farming, delivering training or teaching programmes etc.
