Chimpanzee Rescue Center Volunteers
For a rewarding, life-enriching experience, consider volunteering at IDA-Africa's Sanaga-Yong Chimpanzee Rescue Center located on the edge of the forest near a remote village in Cameroon. This a great project for any volunteers interested in conservation work in Africa. It is also a good opportunity to practice French language skills!

Key Information
- Accommodation and vegetarian meals provided (no fees)
- Required:
- Fluency in the French language (or at a minimum, advanced-intermediate level with good conversational ability)
- Experience living in a developing country OR- Previous experience working with chimpanzees or great apes
- Preferred:
- Fluency in English
- Work experience, ideally as part of group or team
- Ability to drive small truck with manual transmission

- Qualifications or length of stay may be negotiated for applicants with professional veterinary or medical training, or mechanical, electrical or construction skills & experience. The project needs veterinarians, veterinary technicians, doctors and nurses, mechanics and engineers.
